THE TIME MACHINE

Quase um ano depois... Cá estou eu. É estranho voltar. Sinto que tudo mudou desde a última vez que vos escrevi. Ainda sinto que pertenço aqui, mas já não me identifico com grande parte dos posts anteriores. Hoje volto diferente. Quero fazer coisas diferentes por aqui. O tempo é mais escasso, infelizmente não consigo prometer posts com muita regularidade, mas vou tentar não fazer pausas tão longas como a última. Por falar no tempo... Alguma vez pensaram para onde iam se houvesse uma máquina do tempo? Eu voltava para o final dos anos 60. Todas as décadas são especiais, mas esta tem o meu coração e alma. Desde a primeira televisão a cores, à viagem do Neil Armstrong à lua, este foi um momento de mudança. A música mudou, a arte mudou, as pessoas mudaram... foi um renascimento de dez anos. Uma enorme revolução comportamental começou com o aparecimento de movimentos organizados por uma juventude que recusava injustiças e desigualdades. Os jovens começaram a fazer-se ouvir. É claro, por um lado, os anos 60 também se contradizem. Para uma década que se afirma ser a década da "paz", foi realmente muito violenta. Foi construído o muro de Berlim, o JFK e o Martin Luther King foram assassinados, o Nelson Mandela foi condenado à prisão perpétua, os Estados Unidos enviaram tropas para o Vietname... Mas, de facto, esta época é lembrada pela contracultura que surgiu de um desejo de paz, mas também de protesto contra uma sociedade conservadora e consumista. Eu atrevia-me a dizer que os jovens desta década mudaram o mundo para sempre. O que eu dava para voltar ao "summer of love", correr os festivais num autocarro tranformado em casa para ver as minhas bandas preferidas... Felizmente para mim, as calças à boca de sino, as mangas largas e as botas de franjas estão de novo na moda. Digam-me para que época iam se realmente houvesse uma máquina do tempo!

Almost an year later... Here I am. It feels kind of strange to be back. Everything has changed since the last time i wrote you. I feel like I still belong here, but I don't identify with most of the previous posts anymore. I'm diferent. And I want to do diferent things around here. I have a lot less time now, I can't promise to post with regularity, but I will try not to have breaks as long as the last one. Speaking of time... Have you ever thought about where you'd go if there was a time machine? I'd go back to the 60's. Every decade is special, but the 60's have my heart and soul. From the first coloured TV, to Neil Armstrong's trip to the moon, this was a time of change. Music changed, art changed, people changed... it was a ten year renaissanse. A huge behavioral revolution started with the appearence of feminism and civil movements supporting the black and the homosexual. The youth started making their voices heard. Of course, on one hand, the sixties also contradicts itself. For a decade that claims to be all about peace, it was actually pretty violent. The Berlin Wall was built, JFK and Martin Luther King were assassinated, Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life in prison, the US sent troops to Vietnam... But, truth is, the sixties are recalled by the counterculture that emerged from this desire of peace, but also protest against a conservative and consumerist society. The young people of this time changed the world forever. Oh what I would give to go back to the "summer of love", get on the road and attend every festival to see my favourite bands... Luckily for me bell botoms, large sleeves and fringe boots are back in fashion. Where would you go if there really was a time machine?
